Inside the Midnight Minute

Welcome aboard the Midnight Minute, a free trader fission monocraft of imperial heritage, handed down three generations of starfaring fortune chevaliers.

Built ninety-six years ago at the Glintstar guilder freehold of Misadin, the Midnight Minute began her travels in the wake of Gondwana’s cosmic winter, entering service at a time of receding glaciers, re-emerging worlds, and opening frontiers. The new dawning age belongs to those daring and adventurous, and the ship was built with this in mind.

It is a small but sturdy craft, offering rugged accommodation and versatile systems.

Not a specialist, but a jack of all trades, perfectly suited to go alone into the margins of civilization. Beyond the reach of greater ships and factions is where the Midnight Minute finds her fortunes, and from colonial cattle drives to covert courier operations, her name has left a mark in ledgers and taverns far across the Stricken March.

Layout and Hull

The Midnight Minute wears a hybrid hull of a prefab solid prow and scratch-built aft- and lower-frame. The well protected forward section houses command and crew, whilst the underslung engineering deck is home to the workshop, reactor, and kinetic engine rooms, whose main shaft runs the length of the vessel at its core. Atop the aft sections, four containers make up the bulk of the vessel’s commercial cargo capacity.

Two articulated ammater fins lend the Midnight Minute independent Witchspace- and Relay-Drive capability. In total, the main hull measures 30 meters in length, 8 meters in width and height. Each amatter fin measures 43 meters, making for a maximum wingspan of 97 meters when fully extended.

The Midnight Minute has the landing-gear, airlocks, crane, and cargo hoists necessary to take on and discharge cargo independently without local facilities, adding to the generalist approach of a vessel designed to operate on wild- and frontier worlds.

Like most free trader vessels, the Midnight Minute is highly adaptable. Modifications range from specialized cargo containers all the way to a full tactical overhaul, adding stubwings for armament. In its current configuration, the vessel can be reliably operated by a crew of three, leaving seven cabin bunks for passengers in comfortable accommodation. But additional systems and crew stand to increase the vessels range and capability.
