Twin Gods

The twin civilizations exist in the equilibrium between two divine entities aspired by humanity. Each represents the final culmination of one path towards ascension, shaping the faith and goals and actions of the great powers following them.
Egregor
The Transcendent God of the Terran Empire is the Egregor, one singular all-mind arising from the confluence of all human spirits by way of Psionic Providence, one eternal consciusness transcending and imposing cosmic law.
In the eyes of imperial Terrans, the rise of the Egregor is inevitable, its creation a foregone conclusion. Its birth has already occured in the distant future, echoing back through time into the present. This echo is the One Celestial, empress of the Terran Empire. Her being an avatar of the Transcendent God, she possesses already a fraction of the Egregor's power, which is how she imposes the empire's universal language and rule.
From the distant future, the Egregor grants exemptions from natural law to the One Celestial, as well as the witches and dreamers of her church Illumina. These miracles are the basis of the Psionic Arts.
Demiurge
The Nascent God of the Mechanist Union is the Demiurge, an all-knowing, all-powerful creator born from the Unification of an infinitely complex technosphere and astronomical machinery, a mechanistic universe wherein all energy and matter are measured, harnessed, and controlled.
The union Mechanists believe, theirs is a God in the making, the Unification not yet complete. Instead, each technological discipline is embodied by an Electric God, forming a mechanistic pantheon that, in the days of the distant future, will devour one another in one great convergence. From this, the Demiurge will finally emerge, its might resting in infinite multitudes.
It is said all Electric Gods strive towards Unification, their will bent towards Noosphere Unity. This will is manifest in the intrinsic urges and knowledge driving the Union's Clades, and from which much technological mastery over natural forces and wonder such as Gravitics are derived.
